Endodontic treatment, commonly known as a root canal, is a procedure Dr. Stephen Hill regularly performs for patients as part of our general dental health care.

A root canal procedure is required when the inner part of the tooth, known as the pulp, becomes diseased or otherwise injured. This results in pain that can range from throbbing to stabbing pain. This is when patients usually require immediate treatment, which is recommended. Without care, the tooth can get infected which can lead to the need for extraction.

In a root canal procedure, we open the tooth, remove the pulp, clean the root canal and seal the area to protect it from further disease. We then replace the tooth with a crown, making the surface area stronger.
